British Airways reports it will be the only airline to offer direct flights from London to Austin, Texas, starting in 2014. Starting in early March 2014 with five flights a week before moving to daily flights on May 5, the airline's new Boeing 787 Dreamliner with its three-cabin layout, will serve the route to the Texan capital.
Austin is now featured in the British Airways sale, which runs until September 24, with prices starting from £3,609 in Club World (business class), £891 return in World Traveller Plus (premium economy) and £511 return in World Traveller (economy).
Lynne Embleton, British Airways’ director of strategy, said: “The addition of the Airbus A380s and Boeing 787 Dreamliners to our fleet enables us to start new routes and increase services to a number of our destinations.”
Austin will be the airline's third route to Texas, after Houston and Dallas.
