Delta Launches Nonstop Flights to Amman from New York

June 4, 2008 By: Kirk Cassels

Delta Air Lines continues its expansion of nonstop, international service Thursday, June 5, with a direct flight from New York's JFK International Airport to Amman's Queen Alia International Airport in Jordan. The addition increases Delta's transatlantic destinations to 37, and comes shortly after launching its inaugural flight of direct service from New York to Cape Town in South Africa. It is the first time in which an American carrier is offering nonstop flights from the U.S. to Amman.

Delta will use Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, which seats 215 passengers, for the service. 34 of the seats are a part of the BusinessElite cabin. Arabic-speaking flight attendants and in-flight movies with Arabic subtitles will also be available.

The New York-to-Amman service takes off four times per week every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Flights depart JFK at 3:55 p.m. and arrive in Amman at 10:35 a.m. local time the next morning. Return flights depart Amman at 12:25 p.m. and arrive at JFK at 6 p.m. local time.
