JetBlue is continuing its international expansion in 2009 with the launches of service to Bogota, Colombia and Nassau, the Bahamas last week, and the announcement that the carrier will start new service to Montego Bay, Jamaica beginning May 21. Daily service to San Jose, Costa Rica will also begin March 26, subject to receipt of Costa Rican government operating authority.
With Montego Bay, Bogota, Nassau and San Jose, JetBlue will have service to 11 international cities.
The service to Jamaica begins May 21 and flights are expected to go on sale for U.S.-originating customers on February 4. Flights will depart New York's JFK airport at 7:55 a.m. and arrive at 10:51 a.m. in Montego Bay. Return flights depart Jamaica at 11:50 a.m. and arrive in New York at 4:39 p.m.
JetBlue's daily service to Bogota will originate at JFK and make a same-plane stop in Orlando before departing for Bogota and New York. Flights depart JFK at 1:20 p.m. and arrive in Orlando at 4:08 p.m. before departing for Bogota at 5:55 p.m. and landing in Colombia at 9:48 p.m. Return flights depart Bogota at 10 a.m., arrive at Orlando at 2:01 p.m., depart Orlando at 3:31 p.m. and arrive in New york at 6:10 p.m.
