Virgin America to Launch California-Mexico Service

mexicoVirgin America marked the launch of its first international city flight (via its new California-Toronto route) by announcing a new destination on the carrier's itinerary: Mexico. The airline filed with the U.S. Department of Transportation for authority to begin flights from San Francisco International Airport to both San Jose del Cabo and Cancun International Airport as well as service from Los Angeles International Airport to Cancun as well. The route will take off this winter.

Virgin America's Toronto service began on June 23. The carrier flies to San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Washington D.C., Seattle, Las Vegas, San Diego, Boston, Fort Lauderdale, Toronto and, starting in the fall of 2010, Orlando.
