Virgin Atlantic has announced that it will begin new flights to Mumbai via London’s Heathrow Airport (LHR) on October 28. The daily flight will offer connections from New York, Boston, Chicago and Washington, D.C.
Virgin’s other India route, between New Delhi and London and New York, enjoyed 20 percent growth in 2011 and celebrates its 12th anniversary this summer.
Virgin will fly Airbus 330-300 aircraft on the route, which offer 15 percent greater fuel efficiency over the A340-300 and a touchscreen in-flight entertainment system. The aircraft will hold 33 Upper Class seats, 48 Premium Economy seats and 185 Economy seats.
