Holland America Pairs Menus With Itineraries

January 11, 2008 By: Travel Agent Central Contributor Travel Agent

Holland America is changing menus on its cruise ships to reflect where they're sailing and will incorporate local foods in meals served onboard. New Caribbean and Mexico menus, created by Holland America's master chef Rudi Sodamin, are available on the line's ships sailing in those areas.

"Part of the fun of travel is experiencing new cultures," said Richard Meadows, Holland America's executive vice president, marketing, sales and guest programs. "By incorporating regional dishes, Chef Rudi has brought the excitement of visiting new destinations to the dining room."

Caribbean and Mexico passengers can expect fresh fish and local produce such as chayote and guava. Sodamin is cooking up new menus for Europe as well as other destinations. Visit (DE)
