Brittany Ferries Resumes Service After Strikes

A bit of good news to start the week: The Daily Mail is reporting that Brittany Ferries will resume its cross-Channel service after routes to France and Spain were suspended on September 21 due to walkouts by crew members.

An estimated 55,000 passengers were affected by the blanket cancelations. The ferry company was forced to stop all services in response to a series of strikes over proposed pay cuts and an increase in working hours.

Brittany Ferries has published its timetable for Tuesday on its website and advised that an 11am Wednesday sailing from Portsmouth to Santander, Spain, was canceled due to the ship being in the wrong place.

The action had affected passengers hoping to sail from Poole, Portsmouth and Plymouth to destinations in France and Spain.
