Le Royal Monceau - Raffles Paris Becomes One of the Superstar Hotels

ParisLe Royal Monceau- Raffles Paris can now call itself one of the superstar Paris hotels. The hotel has been granted the official “Palace Distinction”—one step higher than five stars—by Atout France, the French Agency for Tourism Development.

This hotel joins six other Paris hotels that also hold this luxury status. General Manager Omer Acar says, “We are thrilled to be recognised as a palace hotel. I’d like to thank every single member of staff at the hotel, I know they have worked incredibly hard to get to this level – and they will continue to work hard to live up to it. I would also like to thank Raffles Hotels & Resorts and our owners Katara Hospitality for their continued support and strategic vision to make Le Royal Monceau Raffles Paris a next-generation palace, and one of the very best hotels in the world.”

Le Royal Monceau- Raffles Paris underwent a two year renovation by Philippe Starck. The transformation kept the late 1920s charm with added contemporary artistic flair. The hotel is the only historic luxury hotel in the capital to hold the “Palace Distinction” status after a top-to-toe renovation.

The French Agency for Tourism Development chose this hotel after praising its location, size and cooking. Le Royal Monceau- Raffles Paris is walking distance from the Champs Elysees and the Arc de Triomphe. Many famous names have stayed in the hotel including General Eisenhower, Walt Disney, King Forouk of Egypt and more recently Jennifer Lopez, Dustin Hoffman, Madonna and Michael Jackson. Judges were also very impressed by the large number of suites, including presidential suites which each measure 350 square metres.

In addition to an ideal location and expansive suites, Le Royal Monceau- Raffles Paris has noteworthy cooking. Executive Chef Laurent Andre’s restaurants ‘La Cuisine’ and “Il Carpaccio’ were both awarded one Michelin star this year.
