It seems like there is always something new to enjoy in Paris. In 2012 alone, the recently renovated Musée d’Orsay showed off its new exhibition spaces (including a gallery devoted to Impressionists); the Louis Vuitton-Marc Jacobs exhibit debuted at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs; and Terroir Parisien, a new bistro helmed by Michelin three-star chef Yannick Alléno, began welcoming diners on rue Saint Victor in the 5th arrondissement.
On the accommodations front, some of the City of Light’s finest hotels have unveiled new or new-look suites to entice guests, especially your upscale clients. Following are some highlights.
Saint James’ Private Bungalows
The only chateau-hotel in Paris has hit the headlines for its fabulously eccentric interiors by designer Bambi Sloan. The Saint James Paris has a spa by Gemology, plus a restaurant and bar overlooking the garden terrace. The latest news: The luxury hotel has unveiled two private bungalows, each connected to the hotel by a secret underground passage. Encompassing more than 861 square feet on three levels, each pavilion was designed to resemble a real home with a kitchen, living room and bedroom.

The Pavillon d’Amour has its very own spa with a hammam and an enormous four-poster bathtub. Therapists from the hotel’s spa can provide Gemology treatments in this private spa. Movie lovers will want to book the Pavillon Belles Feuilles, which comes with a home cinema room stocked with a selection of classic and contemporary films shot in Paris.
A member of Relais & Châteaux, the Saint James Paris is situated at 43 Avenue Bugeaud in the 16th arrondissement.
Le Royal Monceau’s Private Suites
If your clients are looking for over-the-top opulence in Paris, they need look no further than Le Royal Monceau’s new collection of luxury suites, including three Presidential Suites. Designed to resemble exclusive private residences, the suites come with top-notch service and all the five-star comforts of the hotel (such as the beautifully designed movie theater).
These suites are accessed by a discreet and secure entrance on the Avenue Hoche. They also have private access to the Philippe Starck-designed Spa My Blend by Clarins. The largest suites also have their very own home cinema, hammam and gym, with a personal trainer on hand to customize workouts. A private florist creates daily flower arrangements, and a personal chef whips up bespoke meals based on your preferences. Le Royal Monceau is located at 37 Avenue Hoche in the 8th arrondissement.
Plaza Athénée’s Royal Suite
The Hôtel Plaza Athénée has revamped its top digs, recently unveiling the touched-up Royal Suite. Designer Marie-José Pommerau waved her wand over the 18th-century decor, adding high-tech amenities including four Panasonic 3D Full HD systems with NeoPDP plasma TVs, two Blu-ray players and 3D Full HD glasses. What this means for guests: not only can you watch all sorts of 3D films and televised programs, you can also display your photos and videos stored in your computer on the 3D Full HD TV set.
Located on the fifth floor, the suite resembles an opulent Parisian apartment with antiques and designer fabrics in apricot color tones. The Royal Suite is composed of four bedrooms, a reception hall, a living room, a sitting room, a study, marble mosaic bathrooms, and balconies overlooking Avenue Montaigne with the Eiffel Tower beyond. Nice touch: The dressing table comes with a minibar for cosmetics to keep them perfectly conserved at 57°F.
At $25,000 per night, this one is to pitch to your most discerning affluent clients. Hôtel Plaza Athénée can be found at 25 Avenue Montaigne in the 8th arrondissement.
