DHS To Meet on Airline Security

International airline security procedures will be a focus of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano’s planed meeting this week in Switzerland with airline executives from around the world, according to the Air Transport Association (ATA).

Last Thursday, Napolitano gave notice of "an additional set of aviation security precautions" and warned of delays for U.S.-bound international travelers. The airline industry is braced for further changes in security procedures, the ATA reports.

"We will have to come to grips with the reality that the air travel experience will be different," says a spokesman for the ATA. "It will not be the same tomorrow as it is today. We will have to turn up earlier and pack differently."
