U.S. Travel: U.S. Should Expand Trusted Traveler Programs to All Airports

The May 5, 2011, announcement by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), that the agency's Trusted Traveler Programs have reached 1 million members prompted the U.S. Travel Association to applaud the milestone. The U.S. Travel Association also urged the Department of Homeland Security to expand its trusted traveler programs to also include domestic air travelers in U.S. airports.

Trusted traveler programs allow the U.S. to focus more security where it is most needed while reducing unnecessary hassles for the majority of low risk travelers, the association said.
