Hualalai Spa Prepares to Welcome Guests After $7 Million Expansion

The  Four Seasons Resort Hualalai on Hawaii’s Big Island will open the Hualalai Spa in mid December after a $7 million expansion. The expansion added a 2,000-square-foot strengthening gym and 24-foot-high outdoor climbing wall.

The spa will emphasize traditional Hawaiiian healing practices utilizing native plant and mineral resources. It will also have a new apothecary that will custom-blend products. More than 20 Hawaiian ingredients such as mamaki (small native tree), alaea (red earth), awapuhi (ginger), niu (coconut), and other Hawaiian essences and essential oils will be featured. In early 2009, complimentary pre-treatment spa rituals in the new Waiea (Water of Life) Garden, new couples hale with private plunge pool, and new pre and post relaxation area will be added.

Four Seasons Resort Hualalai is a 243-room hotel comprising 36 low-rise ocean view bungalows.
