Mauna Lani Goes Green

maunaluni

When it comes to being “green,” Mauna Lani on Hawaii’s Big Island is a pioneer in the resort industry, having been in the game for more than a decade.

In April, Mark Glickman, director of resort marketing, spoke about “The Power of Green” to attendees at the annual Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association's national conference. Earlier this month, the Travel Channel shot the Big Island resort for a new eco-conscious program called Extreme Green. The program highlighted Mauna Lani's solar panels, which generate the most solar electric power of any luxury resort in the world, and the resort’s preservation of its ancient Hawaiian fishponds. The program will air this fall on the Travel Channel.

Mauna Lani Resort sits oceanfront on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii. The resort features the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows, Mauna Lani Spa and the Francis H. I‘I Brown Golf Courses.
