Here's a name to remember when sending clients to Hawaii Island: Dietmar Salat has been appointed director of operations for the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa.
Salat started his Marriott International career in 1980 as chef de cuisine at the Key Bridge Marriott in Virginia. He worked his way up the ranks from executive chef to director of food and beverage at several Marriott International branded hotels and resorts, including properties in Washington D.C., Hong Kong, London, Austria, Singapore, and South Korea. In 2002, Salat was the director of operations and acting general manager at the Renaissance Wailea Beach Resort on Maui.
Salat is the recipient of numerous Marriott International company awards including Executive Chef of the Year and Chef of the Year at Vienna Marriott in Austria.
Salat is a native of Austria and resides in Hawaii with his wife and family.
