The Gran Hotel Montesol, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, just celebrated its grand opening in Ibiza. Originally established in 1933, the Gran Hotel Montesol Ibiza is known for being the first purpose-built hotel on the island, and has since been declared an asset of cultural interest by UNESCO. As a new part of the Curio Collection, the property underwent a full refurbishment to upgrade the property to incorporate modern luxuries, all without losing its neo-classical façade.
Open year-round, the property offers 33 guest rooms which have been decorated by interior designer Lazaro Rosa-Violan. Most rooms offer views of the old town and harbor, as the hotel is located in the heart of Ibiza’s historic center just 65 feet from the Ibiza Harbour and steps from the UNESCO World Heritage Site Dalt Vila, or “Upper Town,” which features ancient buildings and modern markets.
Beaches like Ses Salines and Cala Vadella are easily accessible from the hotel, as well as Formentera Island via a short ferry ride. A bespoke concierge service offer help planning and managing trips prior to and during a guest’s stay, including restaurant reservations, yacht rentals, diving experiences and more. Gran Hotel Montesol Ibiza also has a partnership allowing guests to reserve private meeting rooms at the nearby Ibiza Archaeological Museum. Additionally, the property can arrange meetings aboard private yachts with cater from the hotel’s food and beverage team.
On the ground floor of the hotel is Café Montesol, a hub for social life in Ibiza since its establishment in 1933. Local residents gather at the café to socialize and enjoy Spanish-mediterranean cuisine and tapas specialities. Its cocktail bar offers a street terrace overlooking Vara de Rey Boulevard, and is spacious enough to accommdate up to 300 guests.
