William Maloney resigned in March

ASTA’s Executive Committee reports it is nearing completion of the formation of a search committee that will undertake its search for a new chief executive officer to replace Bill Maloney, who held the post until his resignation in March. ASTA said the search is a  “formidable and important task” and promised a detailed announcement shortly.

“Until the time at which a new CEO is chosen, the Society will continue to operate normally under the direct control of its senior staff in collaboration with the Executive Committee,” ASTA said in a statement. “The Society is fully committed to continuation of the new business plan first implemented in 2007 and ASTA's mission--to facilitate the business of selling travel through effective representation, shared knowledge and the enhancement of professionalism.

“We will continue to explore new ideas to further enhance the value we provide our members, but rest assured, the fundamentals of the “new ASTA” are sound and will go forward undiminished,” ASTA said, urging members with specific questions or concerns to contact any member of the Executive Committee at www.asta.org.
