NACTA Goes Global With Host-Agency Agreement

Breaking new ground, the National Association of Career Travel Agents (NACTA) reports that it has entered into an exclusive partnership with WD World Travel, a Vancouver-based international travel management company, to offer Canadian travel consultants automatic membership into NACTA if they join WD World Travel as an independent consultant.

“NACTA has entered the international market through its relationship with WD World Travel, Canada, and today is a global company our members and suppliers can be proud to be part of. It is exciting to see the growth in NACTA continue to build while maintaining our position as the most sought-after program for independent travel consultants,” said NACTA Vice President Ann van Leeuwen.

“This agreement is a win for everyone involved, affording Canadian independent travel consultants the opportunity to work with one of the premier host agencies in Canada, while taking advantage of NACTA’s comprehensive membership benefits, including independent and home-based travel agent education,” said Tony Gonchar, CEO of ASTA, of which NACTA is an affiliate.

As Canada’s only NACTA-licensed host agency, WD World Travel will offer interested independent consultants a host-agency membership package for $499USD.

This includes set up for Errors and Omissions insurance, accounting and a membership profile; access to WD World Travel’s two booking websites, CruiseCanadaTravels.com and CanadaTravels.com; an overview on the use of WD World Travel’s three GDS providers and an initial orientation by Jacqueline Jamieson, host agency division head.

U.S. travel agents may join NACTA independently for an annual fee of only $145; Canadian and international travel agents may join for $189.

The partnership, which has already launched NACTA’s Canadian chapter system, is expected to add 500 new NACTA members in the coming three years.

NACTA membership benefits include: complimentary access to NACTA sales and MasterMind webinars; special reduced rates to attend NACTA’s educational trips, Destinationals, Seminars at Sea and NACTA’s domestic and international conferences and exclusive invitations to attend Chapter Director meetings and events in the United States or Canada.

Also included are a complimentary subscription to NACTA’s bi-monthly Agent Life magazine and NACTA’s monthly eZine newsletter; and the Voyager Travel Guides, which provide 750 destination guides, more than 50 videos and more than 100 travel articles that agents can use on their websites and social media programs, a $210 value at no additional cost.

NACTA represents independent contractors, outside sales agents, cruise and tour oriented agents, group oriented travel professionals and traditional ARC-appointed travel agencies.

Established in 1986, NACTA’s mission is to represent the interest of independent travel entrepreneurs and to promote professionalism and recognition for the professional independent agent. NACTA is an affiliate of ASTA.
