Hotels celebrate women with girls-only packages
Women want to take time for themselves, and they are also more willing than ever to indulge in the luxury of travel. These are among the findings of a research study conducted by Fairmont Hotels & Resorts for its Willow Stream Spa, talking to online focus groups of women. The concept of "me time" is becoming a priority and even an expectation for women.
Pajamas are one of the only articles of clothing you'll need when booking the "Ultimate Pajama Party" package at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in Alberta (April 7-9) or the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto (March 24-26). You'll be treated to a host of seminars and demonstrations such as "But I've Never Climbed Everest: Success Notes," "Belly Dancing," "Note to Self: The Simple Truth About Being Happy," and the "Girl's Guide to Car Maintenance." Don't forget to pack walking shoes for historic walking tours and dancing shoes for live entertainment. Pajamas are actually required to attend the Red Carpet Martini reception.
At the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth in Quebec, gals can shop 'til they drop with the "French Connection Divas" package through May 31. Included are breakfast, a bottle of champagne, French manicure at Gibson beauty salon, shopping guide to designer boutiques and 10 percent discount at the Fairmont store and Boutique Gourmandise. Rates start at $305 per night.
Since almost every woman likes to be pampered, The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Arizona designed a "Girlfriends Spa Getaway" experience, running through Jan. 7, 2007. Rates start at $649 and include accommodations, breakfast daily, one 60-minute spa treatment per person, per night at the Willow Stream Spa, a women's welcome amenity and overnight valet parking.
For a low-key bachelorette party or to spend some quality time with a friend, the Fairmont Washington, D.C. has a "Get Away From the Guys" package for Friday or Saturday night. Valid through Dec. 30, the package includes your stay, one manicure per person in the room, two in-room movies and buttered popcorn. Rates start at $269 double.
Through March 31, The Fairmont Monte Carlo in Monaco is also tempting women with its "Lucky Look" package. The gals can stay for three nights in a Fairmont room and have a half-day personal fashion and shopping consultation with an expert. Breakfast is also included, as is fitness center access. Rates start at $1,643 for two guests.
