Renovations at The Elevation Hotel (800-258-2633, www.skicb.com) in Crested Butte, CO, will be half completed for this season; specify clients' preference for renovated rooms. Odd numbered rooms in the 43–57 series on floors 3–6 have the best views of the ski area. The Presidential Suite (#558) has two bedrooms, three baths, a fireplace, kitchenette and stunning mountain views. Summit Suites are also large enough to accommodate families.
VIP bookings are handled by Jeff Bay, general manager (970-349-8714, [email protected]). Make reservations for the Christmas holidays, President's weekend and the middle two weeks of March at least 60 to 90 days ahead. Special events include the U.S. Extreme Freeskiing Championships in February.
The resort's family programs are excellent, and the town of Crested Butte has many gourmet dining establishments. Reservations and activities, such as snowmobiling, sleigh-ride dinners, snowshoeing (including moonlight snowshoe tours) and horseback riding can be pre-booked through Anthony Perez, head concierge (970-349-8704, [email protected]).

Crested Butte Mountain Resort (800-810-7669, www.skicb.com) is 30 miles from the Gunnison Airport (GUC), which is served by American Airlines with daily nonstop service from Dallas (DFW), and by United Airlines' daily service from Denver (DIA). Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (888-333-7766, www.jacksonhole.com) is attracting more and more high-end hotel-and-spa properties like the slopeside Teton Mountain Lodge & Spa (800-801-6615, www.tetonlodge.com). Its new Solitude Spa should be booked ahead for any treatments scheduled for the two- to three-hour period immediately after the lifts close.
The spa is under the direction of McNeill Watson (307-732-6865, [email protected]), a graduate of the Florida School of Massage, who supervises a professional staff of 15. Couples' treatments are available, as are teen treatments for ages 14–17 when accompanied by a parent, and special "Little Fingers and Little Toes" manicure/pedicure/nail-art treatments for younger kids. In-room treatments can also be scheduled. The spa primarily uses the Jurlique organic product line.
The hotel itself has 145 rooms on three floors, 17 of them new with this expansion. There's a full mix of room types, standard rooms and condominium units that can be broken out and/or locked off into most configurations. Full concierge service is available for the myriad activities and dining options available at the resort (Teton Village), in Jackson and in neighboring Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks.
For VIP service, contact Tom Walker, sales and marketing manager (307-732-6910, [email protected]). The town of Jackson is seven miles from the resort; a regular shuttle bus service connects the two.
Jackson Hole Airport (JAC) has airlift by American, United, Northwest and Delta, with nonstop daily service from Salt Lake City, Denver, Chicago and Minneapolis, and four-times-a-week service from Dallas, plus weekend nonstop service from Atlanta and Cincinnati. The Silverado Lodge (866-604-4171, www.silveradolodge.com) is part of an overall development at The Canyons Resort (888-226-9667, wwwthecanyons.com) that will see a dozen major development projects coming on line in the next three to five years. The hotel has "232 doors to hall," but here, too, the breakout and lock-off possibilities are highly variable, ranging from one- to three-bedrooms.
Most rooms have outdoor balconies or decks, but these may be limited depending upon how a specific lock-out is configured. All have good views that are typical of Park City: valley views from the east side and mountain/ski-run views to the west.
Booking for prime season (especially the last 10 days of January during the Sundance Film Festival) require at least nine months' lead time. The main concierge desk is next door at the Grand Summit Hotel. Activities that can be booked within the Silverado include bobsled rides and ski-jumping classes at the Olympic Park, hot-air ballooning and the resort-to-resort adventure ski day called The Interconnect.
For VIP services, contact either Timothy Mafales, director of rooms (435-615-8045), or James J. Martin, reservation operations manager (435-615-3392). Book the resort's executive chef for personalized in-room dining.
