Curio’s 50-room Anselmo Buenos Aires offers a blend of modern luxury and storied history.

From northern Europe to South America and Southeast Asia to the southeastern U.S., hotels both big and boutique are opening their doors or making plans to do so. Here are a few that caught our eye this month.

Two ‘Firsts’ for Hilton’s Curio Collection Brand

Curio Collection, a Hilton Worldwide brand, announced last month the opening of its first-ever hotels in Europe and Latin America. Originally built in 1910, the new Reichshof Hamburg hotel is set in the center of Hamburg, Germany, next to Alster Lake, the Rathaus, shops, restaurants and other iconic attractions. It was designed to mimic an earlier era when Art Deco and glamorous details highlighted the world’s most luxurious hotels. Each guest room has a flat-screen HDTV, free Wi-Fi, illuminated vanity mirrors, rain showers and views of Hamburg. Guests can also enjoy the recently upgraded Slowman, a gourmet restaurant with a European twist. For a more casual experience, the hotel’s Bar 1910 features a wide selection of creative cocktails, while Sushi & Sweets serves afternoon tea, sushi and more.

Offering a blend of modern luxury and storied history, Curio’s new, 50-room Anselmo Buenos Aires is set in the historic neighborhood of San Telmo amid Plaza Dorrego Square, one of the oldest public spaces in the city known for its diverse array of cafés, bars, shops and antique stores. The property maintains its original 1900s façade complemented by a modern design that includes spacious rooms and upscale restaurant and bar concepts. Throughout the hotel, guests will also enjoy contemporary décor and art — all infused with the area’s history and local flair.

More News From Hilton

Hilton Hotels & Resorts recently opened the Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino (formerly the Radisson Aruba), a 15-acre beachfront hotel. Less than 10 miles from the capital city of Oranjestad, it has an expansive pool complex, a kids club, dive center, spa, onsite casino and an array of culinary choices. Another Hilton brand, Conrad Hotels & Resorts, has announced plans to operate a new property in San Luis Potosi — the first of that brand in Mexico. It is expected to open in mid 2016.

Best Western Debuts In Solo, Indonesia

Indonesia’s newest hotel, Best Western Premier Solo Baru, has an outdoor pool, a rooftop cocktail lounge and restaurant and a full-service spa with a workout facility. The hotel’s 22nd-floor infinity pool overlooks the city, while the nearby Sky Lounge offers poolside lunch and dinner menus. The onsite gym and spa features an aerobics instructor, steam room and high-end fitness equipment, so guests can stay fit while on vacation. Nearby sightseeing attractions include Kasunanan Palace and the Triwindu Antique Market. Guests are also urged to visit Semarang, on the coast of Java, and Pandawa, a local village with a mystical past. Trips can be arranged through the hotel’s concierge service.

Apricot Opens in Hanoi

With plans for a grand opening at the end of summer, Apricot Hotel has opened its doors for business in Hanoi. With sweeping views of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi’s quaint Old Quarter at its doorstep, the luxury five-star hotel offers 123 neo-classical rooms, two restaurants, a lobby lounge and café, rooftop bar, heated rooftop swimming pool, meeting facilities, spa and fitness center. Apricot Hotel also showcases more than 600 original artworks, ranging from large masterpieces and sculptures to watercolors and sketches.
