B.V.I.'s Scrub Island to Take Bookings Soon

Beginning in early February, agents can book the first resort developed in the British Virgin Islands in more than 15 years. The villas at Scrub Island (www.mainsailbvi.com) are slated to open in October, although not all of them are expected to be complete by then.

Named after its location—a 230-acre island—the property will offer more than 30 two- to five-bedroom villas. Ranging from 1,950 to 5,700 square feet in size, these luxurious multi-level homes will showcase customized furniture, fixtures and ceilings, as well as original artwork by local artists.

All units contain living and dining rooms, high-end stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, rain showerheads and teak cabinets. The development also includes a world-class spa, 60-slip marina, four restaurants and bars, an astronomy observatory and an amphitheater made of natural stone.
