Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa in St. Lucia Completes Renovation

Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa in St. Lucia reopened on September 28 after completing $3 million in refurbishments over the course of its month-long closure.

The slate of enhancements put the focus on improving guests’ experience from dining venues to poolside.

“Our September closure was planned, the resort – and St. Lucia -- were unaffected by the hurricanes and we are better than ever,” said Mark Adams, CEO of Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa, in a written release. “The Caribbean is open for business and we’re looking forward to hearing the feedback from guests as we continue to make improvements to our physical amenities and our food and beverage experiences based on their valuable comments.”

The resort’s dining and entertainment venue, now called The Cove, underwent a complete facelift with stylish and environmentally responsible coastal-casual decor including new flooring, furniture and booths, light fixtures and even new names. The Flip Flops Burger Bar and Pizzeria welcomes guests with a cheerful color scheme and is a good place for a casual meal.

Guests can relax in new booths – with charging stations, at high top tables or grab-and-go on their way to CocoLand Waterpark or the beach.

In the evening, guests can dine at Sea Side. Aptly named, the restaurant’s decor is inspired by colors of the beach. On the menu, St. Lucia meets Italy from the Antipasto Bar to lobster ravioli.

The Activity Pool, one of five pools at the resort, has been completely resurfaced inside and out. Guests taking a break from Aqua Fitness and Water Polo can relax in a new jacuzzi, grab a fresh towel at the new Towel Hut and relax in a lounger on the deck of new pavers surrounding the pool.

Improvements continue at the zero-entry Splash pool where a new thatch-covered lounge area offers plenty of shade.

Sports enthusiasts can keep up with their favorite teams at the newly christened Sand Bar or enjoy the day’s live entertainment from culinary lessons to dance lessons and live music.

Formerly the Blu Bar, this gathering spot now has an extended bar, new stools, furniture and now four television screens. The Sand Bar is one of seven at Coconut Bay where there is never any charge for top-shelf liquor.
