The Crane To Expand Spa, Add Rooms

Travel Agent learned that The Crane in Barbados is looking to undergo a major expansion of its spa, and planning to add as many as 80 rooms. The two-treatment room facility is expected to be expanded to as many as 10 rooms in roughly the next two years, Annmarie Thompson, director of marketing, told us during a sit down on Friday. The resort, however, will still keep its popular in-room spa treatments where clients can get massages on their balconies. The Crane is also expected to add 80 rooms, which will include residences, hotel rooms and fractional ownerships.

Thompson visited Travel Agent to discuss the much-anticipated opening of its new 55,000 square-foot retail, restaurant and conference facility. The first stage of the opening will reveal The Village Town Hall, a 3,000-square-foot Duty Free shopping center and state-of-the-art conference facility, which will open March 1.

Among the many amenities visitors will enjoy at The Crane Village are a new reception and lounge area, a variety of dining and entertainment options, such as D’Onofrio’s for southern Italian fare, Pizza Terrace with al fresco dining, The Village Café for fresh bread and coffee, and Bar 1887 featuring Rum Shop Happy Hour with authentic Bajan Tapas. The Village will also include a private theatre and state-of-the-art gym and spa facility, which will overlook the legendary Crane beach and cliff pools. The entire project is expected to be completed by October, Thompson says.
