Holiday Inn Resort Jekyll Island has opened after undergoing a $22 million renovation. The property has 21 suites and a total of 157 rooms. Guests will have complimentary Internet, a quarter mile of private beach and a poolside lounge. This is the first Holiday Inn Resort location in Georgia.

There are several activities guest can choose from, including bike rentals, paddle boarding and skim boarding. There is also a Kid’s Club and a Snowbird Activities Program during the winter months. On the island guests can take advantage of the Summer Waves Water Park, Jekyll Island Golf Course and the Georgia Sea Turtle Center. The hotel’s signature restaurant, Beach House, is set to open late this summer. It will serve locally caught seafood and coastal dishes.

The Holiday Inn Brand currently has 42 properties worldwide and is included in InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG).

“With locations around the world, the Holiday Inn brand plays an important role in the journeys of guests wherever they travel – from the boardroom to the beach,” said Maurice Cooper, vice president of the Holiday Inn Brand, The Americas, IHG. “As part of that iconic brand family, the Holiday Inn Resort Jekyll Island, our first resort in Georgia, provides both the warm service and modern amenities.”
