NEW YORK CITY– Travel Agent was on location for an Iberostar Hotels & Resorts press conference last week in which the all-inclusive company revealed aggressive expansion plans that call for up to 100 new hotels by 2012, including two by the end of the year.

John Long, vice president of sales and marketing, told media in attendance about immediate plans to open both the Iberostar Grand Hotel Rose Hall and the Iberostar Grand Hotel Bavaro ahead of schedule. Iberostar Grand Hotel Rose Hall in Jamaica will open November 15, and Iberostar Grand Hotel Bavaro in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, will open December 22.

Agents can book both properties now, Long says. As for the future, the company is planning to open another property in Puerto Vallarta and another in Brazil in 2009 and is also looking at possible properties in Asia, North Africa, Morocco and other Mediterranean countries within the next four years, Long says.
