InterContinental Hotels & Resorts will expand its reach around the world with nine new properties planned for the U.S, China, Europe and the Middle East this year. U.S. additions include Kansas City, MO; Baltimore, MD; and Boston (opening in October). InterContinental is also planning opening in Panama late spring and in Spain and Chongqing, China in June. Look for Taba, Egypt to debut in July along with the InterContinental Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. A property in Belgrade, Serbia is set to undergo renovations and reopen in November under the InterContinental flag. The brand also anticipates opening its Shenzhen, China hotel in the fourth quarter.
