February’s been a busy month for Island Outpost, a boutique hotel collection in Jamaica and The Bahamas. The company announced that for the first time booking is available for its Itopia property, a historical home from the 1600’s, and also announced the makeover of The Caves in Negril.
On Jamaica’s north coast, Itopia is now opening its doors to the public for the first time in the historical home’s history. The 1600’s-era country home is available for private rentals courtesy of Island Outpost. The three-bedroom Itopia is available for year-round, short- and medium-term rentals. It has a full staff, lush gardens, high-speed wireless Internet and cable television. All bedrooms offer queen-sized beds, the upstairs bedroom with en suite bathroom and shower, the downstairs featuring a canopy bed, along with sunken bath and shower. The third bedroom contains a four-poster canopy bed. Accommodations at Itopia through April 19 begin at $595 per night and $450 per night from April 20 through December 14. Food and beverage outlets have been upgraded with new equipment as well. In addition, a third cave will be used daily for massages, and transformed in the evenings into a rum and cigar bar. The 10 cottages have been repainted with re-worked soft furnishings, rooms are now equipped with full mini-bars and upgraded linens. The Caves’ pool and pool deck area has been retiled and repainted.
