Loews Hotels has appointed Glyn Aeppel to the newly created position of executive vice president of acquisitions and development. Aeppel, who joins Loews from Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, will oversee the company's growth strategy, with plans to expand through acquisitions in target cities such as San Francisco, Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, Seattle and Toronto, along with resort destinations. Loews is currently undergoing a strategic expansion and recently took over management of The Madison in Washington D.C. and announced plans for a new property in Lake Las Vegas opening in 2009.
