Stay in a Marriott Safari Tent at Coachella

This April, Marriott is activating its first-ever partnership with Coachella to offer consumers unique accommodations at the music festival. Marriott will be the first brand to take over some of the safari tens on the festival grounds that consumers can sleep in. The eight tents will be revamped into hotel rooms with the same furniture, décor, and amenities (air conditioning and on-site concierge) from hotels in Marriott's lifestyle portfolio, which includes Moxy Hotels, Aloft, Renaissance, etc. The experience also includes private restrooms and showers, golf cart shuttles to and from the stages, and breakfast and late-night snacks.

Additionally, for the first time since Marriott’s merger with Starwood Preferred Guest, the brand will be offering an experience to loyalty members in both programs via the Marriott Experiences Marketplace and SPG Moments sites. Marriott will also have additional tickets and VIP passes to the festival, a branded travel inspired tent at the festival and opportunities for attendees to win trips to Marriott properties around the world.

Travel Agent laid out the basics of booking travel, accommodations, and exclusive perks at Coachella. The festival takes place over two consecutive weekends in April: April 14, 15, 16 and April 21, 22, 23, 2017, at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Each weekend requires separate tickets, and Discover 7 Travel suggests that travelers looking for a more relaxed vibe book weekend two. If your client wants the livelier option with optimal chances for celebrity sightings, book weekend one.

Discover 7 Travel founder Eric Grayson suggests clients skip the traffic and charter a private jet flight from LAX to Coachella Valley. Once there, guests can camp onsite or book a hotel offsite. Those who book a Safari Tent on the Empire Polo Club grounds also get Safari Guest passes. These passes get travelers into Safari-Guest-Only bars and the backstage Artist Village. Regarding hotels, there are a limited number of rooms and they fill up fast.
