Over the next four years, Marriott International Inc. plans to open 130 hotels outside of North America. This is a bullish jump in properties, considering the company currently manages 350 hotels outside North America. The new hotels will add 32,000 rooms to the company’s count. Half of these openings will be in China, India and the United Arab Emirates. The company’s plans fly in the face of a fourth-quarter net loss in 2008.
