Marriott Set to Open Resort in Vietnam

Marriott International this week announced it signed a long-term agreement with Phat Dat Quant Ngai Hotel & Resort Corp. to open and operate the 250-room Hoi An Marriott Resort & Spa. The Hoi An, which is set to open in 2015, will be the ninth Marriott-branded property in Vietnam.

"We're delighted by the continued expansion of our hotel portfolio in Vietnam and to participate in the emergence of Vietnam as a world-class travel destination," said Simon Cooper, Asia-Pacific president at Marriott.

The resort will have four food and beverage options, three swimming pools, a spa and tennis courts along with 1,100 square meters of meeting space including a 750-square meter ballroom.

The resort will be situated at the Cua Dai Beach on the South China Sea. The location is a 35-minute drive from Da Nang International Airport and a five-minute drive from an ancient town. The city of Hoi An, located in East-Central Vietnam, is a designated UNESCO World Heritage site with 200-year-old architecture. The area's recreational options include beaches, water activities and golf courses.
