New Outrigger Cultural Experiences Include Fire Walking and Ukulele Lessons

Outrigger Resorts has curated a new collection of cultural experiences aimed at experiential travelers.

The new Outrigger Resorts Signature Experiences are tied to the heritage of each resort destination and range from Batik painting in Thailand to ukulele lessons in Hawaii and fire walking in Fiji. Other examples include snorkeling with marine biologists in the Maldives and Thai cooking and language classes.

“As Outrigger continues to expand to destinations throughout the Asia-Pacific, Oceania and Indian Ocean regions, we’re unveiling experiences that are distinctly different and localized to each of the brand’s resort destinations — encouraging guests to ‘escape the ordinary’ and experience local cultural traditions at our properties around the world,” said Sean Dee, executive vice president and chief marketing officer for Outrigger Enterprises Group in a written release.

The beachfront resorts will host on-site cultural activities as well as culinary experiences and excursions into local communities. Each Outrigger resort hosts an interactive sunset ceremony based on local traditions, and arrival and departure gifts given to each guest also reflect each island’s distinct culture, from shell leis in Hawaii to Fijian sulus, the traditional skirt worn by men and women alike.

The Signature Experiences Collection will be offered at the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort, Outrigger Guam Beach Resort, Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort, Outrigger Koh Samui Beach Resort, Outrigger Mauritius Beach Resort, Outrigger Konotta Maldives Resort, Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort, and the Castaway Island Fiji Resort.

Travel advisors certified as Outrigger Expert Agents can earn booking points toward cash payments or gift certificates in $50 increments, along with other incentives.
