Rosewood Hotels and Resorts has added an Italian hotel to the family. Rosewood will now manage Castiglion del Bosco, located in Montalcino, Tuscany.

Castiglion Del Bosco, now named Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco, is an 800-year-old estate with a medieval church, castle ruins and the Borgo. The Borgo, a village that was once a farming center, now houses the hotel’s 23 suites and 10 villas.

“Rosewood immediately recognized and respected that Castiglion del Bosco is deeply rooted in the Tuscan way of life,” says Massimo Ferragamo founder of Castiglion del Bosco. “Castiglion del Bosco fits perfectly within their collection of one-of-a-kind properties, and their clientele of affluential explorers will have the chance to embrace and discover this very special part of the world.”

Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco has a cooking school, organic garden, spa, infinity pool and fitness center that guests can take advantage of. The hotel also has a historic winery and is the fifth largest producer of Brunello di Montalcino. Guests are welcomed to tee off at the hotel's 18-hole golf course that Tom Weiskopf designed.

Recently, Rosewood Hotels and Resorts has been expanding across the globe. This is Rosewood’s third process in Europe, and the Rosewood Beijing opened this past October, making it the first Rosewood property in China.
