Sands Tapped for New Resort in Singapore

The Las Vegas Sands Corp. has been selected to develop a resort at Marina Bay
by the Singapore
government. The Marina Bay Sands will house two 2,000-seat theaters, an
entertainment zone, outdoor event plaza and an Art Science Museum. Luxury retail
outlets with stores such as Saks
Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus will be located at Marina Bay
along with celebrity chef restaurants debuting the talents of Charlie Trotter,
Thomas Keller, Pierre Gagnaire and Hiroyuki Hiramatsu. The property will also
have 2,500 hotel rooms in three towers. Other companies vying for the project
included Harrah's Entertainment, Genting International and MGM Mirage.
