Six Design Hotels Members Offers Access to Ski Trails

Matterhorn towering over Zermatt in Wallis, SwitzerlandSix Design Hotels members, from Sweden to the northern reaches of Japan, will provide access to the best ski trails this winter season.

In the premier Swedish ski destination, Åre, rests Copperhill Mountain Lodge. The hotel holds 112 luxury and private guestrooms. At the lodge, guests will experience complimentary guided activities such as snowshoeing, ski tours and morning meditation, as well as ski-in/ski-out access to the large piste system. The spa has recently added two chambres separées, featuring saunas, hot baths, showers and lounges. The hotel also has a restaurant, Vaajese, where the menu is based on local ingredients and honors traditional Nordic cooking. The hotel offers a special elopement wedding package.

Guests will feel welcomed at The Cambrian, located in the Swiss village of Adelboden. The village has over 120 miles of ski trails. The hotel's 8,000 square foot spa offers an outdoor thermal pool deck. A winter garden extending out from the lobby is accessible for après-ski drinks.

In Verbier, Hotel Nevaï is situated within walking distance of ski lifts, shopping areas, excellent restaurants and world famous après-ski and nightlife. Verbier features over 250 miles of ski trails. Enjoy shows and dancing at The Farm Club venue.

The Omnia hotel is located atop Matterhorn Mountain in Zermatt, Switzerland, which has over 200 miles of trails open in the winter. The Cavern is the hotel's conference center by day and lounge bar by night.

Opening Dec. 12, 2012, Zhero - Ischgl/Kappl, offers guests a limousine shuttle service between the Ischgl and Kappl locations. Guests can enjoy a spa treatment; take advantage of the in-house boutique and even shopping at Samnaun.

Located on Japan's island of Hokkaido in Niseko is Kimamaya Boutique. The lodge only holds nine rooms, but guests can enjoy the Living Lounge. The ski resort of Niseko, Gran Hirafu, features snow runs and off-piste skiing. At the spa, guests are pampered with Japanese massage techniques and a soak in a wooden or stone tub. The lodge's restaurant, Barn, serves French-inspired food and wine fare.
