Southern Ocean Lodge to Open in South Australia

Southern Ocean Lodge, a luxury resort on South Australia's Kangaroo Island, is scheduled to open in March 2008. Set on natural bush land, the property overlooks the coast and features an environment-oriented design that uses local limestone, recycled timber and glass. Each of the 21 suites has a large sleeping area, sunken lounge, glass-walled bathroom, and outdoor terrace with seating and daybeds. Other amenities include Internet access and music systems with MP3 input (TVs are available in some suites). The property also has a restaurant and spa. From Adelaide, visitors to Kangaroo Island can take a 30-minute flight or a 45-minute ferry from Cape Jervis on the mainland to Penneshaw, the Kangaroo Island port. Visit [www.baillielodges.com.au].
