SuperClubs Breezes Bahamas

When the subject of Caribbean all-inclusive vacations comes up, it's natural for Jamaica and the Dominican Republic to immediately come to mind. These two destinations have the lion's share of all-inclusive resorts. Even so, it would be a mistake for agents to narrow their focus too much, for other islands have full-blown all-inclusive resorts of their own. One of these is SuperClubs Breezes Bahamas.

SuperClubs Breezes Bahamas occupies the niche between being a family resort or adults-only resort. The property welcomes guests 14 years and older. The percentage of guests arriving from the U.S. is between 65 and 70 percent, while the repeat rate is healthy at 40 percent. The resort is situated on a quiet stretch of CableBeach in Nassau, about a 10-minute drive from Nassau's InternationalAirport and five miles from downtown Nassau's duty-free shops.

"The typical Breezes client is 25 to 45 years old looking for a quick weekend getaway," says Donella Bethel, director of sales, SuperClubs Breezes Bahamas. "They're looking for fun and active vacations, with some adventure thrown in." According to Bethel, the company makes a special effort to reach out to FITs, incentives and meetings, and the wedding market. To that end the resort offers complimentary weddings that include wedding cake, champagne, marriage license, non-denominational marriage officer, flowers, and witnesses provided on request. Wedding paperwork is handled by the couple, and SuperClubs requires 21 days notice to complete formalities. For the meetings market, Breezes Bahamas has banquet and conference facilities that accommodate groups of up to 500 people, theater style. SuperClubs: Proactive on the Passport Issue

Approximately 70 percent of the resort's business is generated by travel agents. Bethel recommends travel agents book at least three to five months ahead.

SuperClubs Breezes Bahamas offers special travel agent rates, based on availability. The resort doesn't have a designated travel agent liaison; make bookings by contacting International LifeStyles at 800-Go-Super.

Agents can book spa treatments ahead of time for their clients by contacting Isles of Tranquility Spa at 242-327-5356 ext. 6130.

Something for Everyone

The resort comprises an eight-story West Wing and a four-story East Wing totaling 391 rooms, including five suites and 35 oceanfront deluxe rooms. All rooms have direct-dial telephones, cable TVs, safety deposit boxes, hairdryers, coffee makers, iron and ironing boards and CD players.

As far as which rooms have the best views, Bethel recommends the oceanfront rooms. The 36 oceanfront deluxe rooms have a view of the ocean and beachfront; oceanfront deluxe ground floor rooms offer access to the beach through sliding glass doors.

The resort has three freshwater pools, poolside Jacuzzi, land and non-motorized water sports, a circus workshop and nightly entertainment.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served buffet-style in the main dining room, Jimmy's Buffet. Dinner is served at Pastafari, specializing in Italian cuisine, and Garden of Eden. Snacks are available throughout the day at The Pool Grill.

Presently Breezes Bahamas does not have Wi-Fi areas, although guests who feel the need to stay connected can pay a fee and take advantage of Internet access in the lobby's Internet Cafe.

SuperClubs Breezes Bahamas has an expansion program in the works, targeted at $25 million, although specifics are still being kept under wraps.
