Starwood Hotels & Resorts on Thursday announced plans for a W Hotel in Macao, one of Asia's fastest growing cities that is often referred to as the "Las Vegas of Asia." The W Macao-Studio City is slated to open in 2009 and offer 563 rooms. Starwood recently announced it will open a 4,000-room Sheraton also in Macao and a 460-room St. Regis. Other W projects are slated for Hong Kong, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
