Official Statement on Terror Attacks From the Tourist Office of Spain

Earlier this month, the country of Spain was recently hit by terrorist attacks in the cities of Barcelona and Cambrils. In response to these attacks, the Tourist Office of Spain in New York City has released an official statement:

"We express again our condolences to the families and friends of the victims of the terrible terrorist attacks that took place in Barcelona and Cambrils last week. We are thankful for the many displays of affection and support received these days in Spain. We would like to convey a message of tranquility to those people who are preparing to spend a few days in Spain or who are thinking of visiting and we confirm, as of today, the situation has returned to normal with regard to tourist activities.

We would like to highlight the magnificent work carried out by the police and security forces in achieving the restoration of normality and to show that, while they continue to adopt all the measures and precautions necessary to ensure the safety of tourists travelling to Spain, the professionals of the Spanish tourism sector redouble their efforts to offer our visitors the experience, quality and kindness in the same manner that has always characterized our country.

Many thanks for the support and confidence that has been shown to us by the tourism professionals in the USA, as always; we would be glad to answer any questions or concerns you may have about Spain."
