January 28, 2011 By: Meagan Drillinger

The ITC Royal Gardenia hotel in Bangalore, India, a member of the Luxury Collection, has attained LEED Platinum status, based on environmentally friendly practices such as Energy Efficiency, Zero Solid Waste management, Green Banqueting and more.

The 300-room luxury hotel uses natural elements as inspiration for each of its 11 floors, from stones and fossils to earth, trees, water, fire, foliage, birds, butterflies, sky and cloud. There is also a hanging garden in the atrium lobby.

The hotel hosts four restaurants, offering everything from Indian fare to Japanese cuisine, and the luxury Kaya Kalp Spa offers signature and pomegranate treatments.
