Ritz-Carlton Reluctantly Gives up Management of The Ritz-Carlton Bali, Resort & Spa

January 9, 2009 By: Mark Rogers

Beginning April 1, The Ritz-Carlton Company will no longer manage The Ritz-Carlton Bali, Resort & Spa. When Travel Agent spoke to a representative at the company, we learned that there had been a lawsuit filed by the owners against The Ritz-Carlton Company. When the owner won the lawsuit in the courts, Ritz-Carlton was required to give up management of the property. The spokesperson said the company had managed the 368-room hotel since the early 90s and that it was one of its most successful properties. Current reservations will be honored, and agents who have questions about their clients’ reservations should contact Ritz-Carlton.
“There’s no doubt we are looking for another location in Bali,” said the spokesperson. “We leave with sadness but we’re very proud of our management of the property.”
Ritz-Carlton continues to manage The Bulgari Resort, Bali, which is a 59-villa luxury resort near Uluwatu on the southern tip of Bali’s Jimbaran Peninsula.
