Roberto Martinoli Named CEO of Silversea Cruises

Effective September 19, 2016, Roberto Martinoli will become the Chief Executive Officer of Silversea Cruises.

Martinoli has been a Board Member of the luxury cruise line since 2013. After an extensive and successful career in the cruise and shipping industry, he has been appointed to replace Enzo Visone.

The new CEO holds a master’s degree in naval architecture and marine engineering from the University of Genoa and has also attended an Executive Advanced Program at Kellogg Northwestern University, Illinois in 2006. Prior to joining Silversea, Martinoli was Chairman and CEO of Grandi Navi Veloci, the leading ferry company of the western Mediterranean. Before beginning at Grandi Navi Veloci (where he has retained his position as Chairman), Martinoli served as President and COO of Norwegian Cruise Line during the 2009-2010 year.

Martinoli is also known for his ship management and consulting company, Martinoli SAM, which he owned and operated from 1997-2000.

Martinoli will be based at the company’s headquarters in Monaco, and will report directly to Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovido.
