The National Association of Career Travel Agents (NACTA) has named May Travel Consultant Appreciation Month, and in honor of the occasion Travel Agent is collecting stories from agents about the best things they’ve done for their clients.

The American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) has also declared Wednesday, May 4, Travel Agent Appreciation Day as part of National Travel and Tourism Week. ASTA recently published preliminary research showing travel agents save their customers an average of $452 per trip.
For Travel Consultant Appreciation Month, NACTA will feature two free webinars, special content, offers, and prizes explicitly for travel consultants. In addition, in honor of NACTA's 30th anniversary conference celebration, one NACTA member will be chosen in a Grand Prize drawing for a three-day conference pass along with a complimentary three-night stay at the Westin Fort Lauderdale Hotel during the event, valued at $750. NACTA members also have a chance to win a 2nd Grand Prize drawing—a complimentary conference pass to attend the 2017 NACTA Annual Conference in Anchorage, Alaska, in September 2017.
One of the NACTA webinars, "Get More Leads Online with Inbound Marketing Tactics," is sponsored by Groups Today. NACTA said it anticipates more than 15 suppliers will participate in recognizing NACTA travel consultants during National Travel Consultant Month through various bonus commission and consumer offers, and educational sessions. In addition, NACTA members can bring an agent guest to attend their chapter meeting for free in recognition of appreciation month. Travel consultants that are not members of NACTA can use coupon code "NACTA30" for special NACTA Membership savings throughout the month.
Travel Consultant Appreciation Month participants will be entered into weekly drawings to win gift cards, complimentary subscriptions, and other prizes. NACTA members can take advantage of bonus commissions and extra amenities for their clients.
