Keith Prowse New York Shuts Down

January 17, 2011 By: Staff

Ticketing service Keith Prowse has shuttered its New York offices. The company, which started in London, England, has been active since 1780, and officially started selling tickets in 1815.

The company's New York office, located on 44th Street in Manhattan's Theater District, closed for good on Friday, Jan. 14. Keith Prowse relayed the following message to customers via an outgoing recording on its phone line:

"We have ensured that all future bookings will be honored by our theaters and partners for shows and events in London, Las Vegas and New York. Please follow the instructions on vouchers previously issued for your bookings to retrieve your tickets on the day of the performance. We thank you for your patronage over the years, and we hope you have a wonderful day."

Keith Prowse has handled ticket sales for events such as the Wimbledon Championships, the British Open golf tournament and the Chelsea Flower Show. The U.S. branch sold tickets to New York- and Las Vegas-based events, as well as major sporting events.
