Tauck is marking St. Patrick’s Day with the launch of its new “Ireland Forever” itinerary to the Emerald Isle. The 8-day journey has been designed specifically for families, and is part of the company’s Tauck Bridges collection of family travel adventures.
The addition of the new Tauck Bridges tour in Ireland comes as Tauck reports growth in its tours to the region. “Our itineraries visiting England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland are showing incredible growth this year, with double-digit increases in bookings across the board,” said Tauck CEO Dan Mahar.
Included in Tauck’s tour price (from $3,896 per person, triple occupancy, plus airfare) are all accommodations, all gratuities, airport transfers, all ground transportation, all sightseeing, admission to all attractions, all entertainment, most meals, luggage handling and more. Tauck will offer 2013 departures of “Forever Ireland” in June, July and August.
The “Ireland Forever” itinerary begins with a two-night stay at the Conrad Dublin in Ireland’s capital city, highlighted by a Dublin city tour on an amphibious “DUKW,” Irish step dancing lessons, and a nighttime horse-drawn carriage tour of the city’s haunted sites.
The itinerary continues with a first-class train ride to County Cork, where Tauck guests will enjoy three nights at the Castlemartyr Resort in the small village of Castlemartyr. In County Cork, Tauck’s guests will kiss the fabled Blarney Stone, hear tales from an Irish storyteller, and try their hand at crafting pottery and Celtic jewelry. They’ll also travel to the Ballymaloe Cookery School, where they’ll participate in a cooking demonstration, prepare their own memorable dinner, and enjoy a performance of traditional Irish music.
En route to a two-night stay at Dromoland Castle in County Clare, guests will enjoy lunch in a local Killarney restaurant and explore Killarney National Park in a traditional jaunting cart, during a lakeshore bike ride and on a boat cruise. Following a visit to the spectacular Cliffs of Moher, the journey concludes with a special Irish evening at a local sheep farm. Here Tauck guests will watch sheep dogs at work, learn about sheep shearing, help feed young lambs, and enjoy a Irish dinner along with traditional music and dance.
