Accor stepped up its expansion in Italy in the last quarter of 2009, opening three Mercure hotels and two MGallery hotels.
Mercure continues to expand through franchise agreements and has opened three new hotels in Rende, Tarente and Naples.
The Mercure Cosenza Rende (98 rooms) is geared towards business and leisure travelers, close to Tyrrhenian Coast and Sila Mountains. Its Nabucco restaurant offers traditional local food with a panoramic view of the swimming pool and gardens.
The Mercure Delfino Taranto (198 rooms) has reopened after a total makeover in 2007. The hotel is located on the seafront and has a terrace with a panoramic view of the Tarente golf course. Its restaurant offers à la carte, local cuisine and Apulian specialties.
The Mercure Napoli Torre del Greco (77 rooms) is just a few minutes from Naples. It has a conference center that hosts up to 300 people.
The Grand Hotel Villa Torretta Milano and Palazzo Caracciolo Napoli, which are part of the MGallery hotel collection, complete the network.
The Grand Hotel Villa Torretta Milano is housed in a listed 15th-century building. It is close to a large area of parkland and a short distance from the center of Milan. This hotel, which has just been completely renovated, is just a few minutes from the station and has 78 rooms.
The Palazzo Caracciolo Napoli (143 rooms) is a contemporary hotel housed in a former 18th century fortress.
