Jamaica Tourist Board Names John Woolcock New District Sales Manager

john woodcockThe Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) announced Wednesday the promotion of John Woolcock to the position of district sales manager, with responsibility for the West and Southeast U.S. With this new appointment, Woolcock has relocated to Dallas, Texas.
 
Prior to his appointment, Woolcock served as business development manager, Northeast U.S., covering the New England region, where he helped to grow Jamaica’s visitor arrivals.

“John is a consistently hard worker and has demonstrated strategic proficiency in promoting destination Jamaica,” said Donnie Dawson, deputy director of tourism, sales for the Jamaica Tourist Board, in a written release. “His career experience, enthusiasm and sales and marketing expertise should serve him well as he leads the team in seeking to increase visitor arrival in the important West and Southeast markets.”

Woolcock was raised in Jamaica’s tourist capital, Montego Bay, and with a passion for tourism and business, joined the Jamaica Tourist Board in 1987 as a sales representative. Before relocating to Boston, John was responsible for promoting travel from the Midwest region. His work in the travel agent community has not gone unnoticed and was voted one of 2010’s
Top Supplier Sales Representatives by Travel Agent magazine.
