Sunwing Buys Former Breezes Trelawny Hotel in Jamaica

The Jamaica Gleaner reports that Canadian tour company Sunwing has acquired the former Breezes Trelawny hotel. The company also continues to run the former Breezes Rio Bueno hotel, under lease from owner, the National Investment Fund. The resort will temporarily close on June 1, 2012, for a $40-million renovation. The hotel will reopen to guests as "a four-star plus resort," on November 1, 2012, under the new name of Memories White Sands Beach Resort & Spa.
