Japan National Tourism Organization Raises Money for Earthquake Relief

The Japan National Tourism Organization and Japanese travel agencies have donated approximately $7,750 to the Consulate General of Japan in New York. The money was pulled in as a result from the sales of the $780 special package for four nights in Tokyo including air.

According to the Japan National Tourism Organization, $50 per sale of the package were donated for the post-quake relief charity. Executive Director of JNTO New York Office Suichi Kameyama said in a written statement, "This special package reminded me of the high potential and popularity of tourism to Japan in the US market."
