Lanai Resorts Launch Voluntourism Program

February 25, 2011 By: Jena Tesse Fox

If your clients want to give back when  they travel, here's a great program in Hawaii. The Four Seasons Resorts Lanai has launched the Kokua Project, a community-based voluntourism program that allows guests to give back to the community and the island itself.

The Kokua Project lets guests experience the island and culture by volunteering. For example, guests can help care for local animals at the Lanai Animal Rescue Center, which aids animals in need. Volunteer activities include "Pet & Purr" cat socialization, painting kitty condos, upkeep of facility, gardening, weeding, and pruning.

To volunteer, or learn more, contact the resort concierge and ask about the Kokua Project.
